Forget subtle and demure, Annie Larson’s designs are a laugh-out-loud riot of colour and pattern.  Kinda refreshing, no?

Found this while browsing through the awesome image blitzkrieg that is bam bam.  The woman in this photo manages to look stylish, flirty, and amazingly, not like some insane knitting chick who wears her eclectic handknits all at the same time.  Even though she is doing exactly that.

I really enjoy how this designer adapts knitting into her creations.  Here she uses strips of mousseline of increasing width knit in garter stitch to form the yoke of this top.  Some of her other designs explore the sculptural potential of knitting and crocheting while still maintaining wearability. This is my favourite of okapiknits’ “knitting canvases”.  The figure appears to break through the flat surface of the “canvas” as she swings out towards you, her little pigtails flying behind her.  And it’s knitted.  If only I were decorating a little girl’s room. View high resolution

The “Baalaclava” by Anne-Marie Dunbar.
I’m unlikely to ever knit this pattern, as amusing as I find it.  I can only imagine two possible scenarios in which I might wish to have this on hand but I never intend to visit anyplace that cold nor do I plan on holding up a bank.
Buy the pattern from her website or through her Ravelry page.

UNRAVEL. Knitwear in fashion
From 16 March till 14 August 2011, presented by MoMu
Seems like everyone and their grandmas use Sandra Backlund’s work to represent avant-garde knitwear these days, so I initially thought MoMu’s choice for this poster was a little obvious but who could resist a Backlund creation on Tilda Swinton?  I never get tired of looking at Tilda, she is so terrifyingly beautiful.
